Job Description

Position Overview

The County of Riverside is seeking a Transportation Warehouse Worker I in the Warehouse division, located in Riverside, CA. In this entry‐level role, you will assist in obtaining, storing, and issuing parts and supplies for the maintenance of heavy trucks, construction equipment, and materials. Candidates should have experience with computer inventory systems, inventory control, forklift operation, and warehouse environments related to automotive parts and construction equipment. The incumbent will work a 4/10 schedule (Tuesday–Friday).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in obtaining, storing, and issuing parts for heavy trucks, construction equipment, and materials.
  • Pick up and deliver parts from local vendors; identify and issue parts to construction and mechanic staff.
  • Post daily transactions to record the issuance of parts for billing.
  • Under guidance, order equipment parts or materials and interpret parts catalogs for proper identification.
  • Assist in taking inventory of parts on-hand, accepting invoices, annotating records, and preparing reports.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift.
  • Perform minor maintenance on heavy construction equipment, such as changing oil and air filters, fueling, greasing, and topping off fluids.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: One year in heavy truck and construction equipment repair or in obtaining, storing, and issuing construction equipment parts and materials.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy truck and equipment parts terminology, product lines, and computerized receiving/inventory procedures.
  • Ability: Read and interpret technical information for parts research and establish effective relationships with vendors and staff.
  • Driver's License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required.
