Job Description
Position Overview
At OhioMHAS, the position involves primary medical records management, which includes the release of information, transcription tasks (downloading and formatting documents), tracking document completion, compiling data for chart completion, assembling and analyzing discharges, and processing discharge referral information. This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union). Compensation: 29 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Location: Central Ohio Behavior Healthcare Campus at 2200 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223.
Key Responsibilities
- Release of Information
- Transcription - downloads documents, formats documents, and tracks document completion
- Compiles data for chart completion
- Assembles/analyzes discharges
- Processes discharge referral information
Required Qualifications
- Completion of health information technology or health information administration program offered by technical school or university/college which would qualify applicant for accreditation as registered health information administrator (RHIA) or registered health information technician (RHIT)
- If curriculum did not include training in pharmacology, applicants must also have 1 course in pharmacology
- Completion of 90 hr. national association of practical nurses educational services may be substituted for 1 course in pharmacology
