Network Engineer - Tier 1

Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of reliable client network environments while growing your technical expertise alongside a team of senior engineers.

Compensation: $62,500/Year

Location: Sterling, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30A - 6:30P

Responsibilities:

• Support & Operations: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Troubleshooting: Perform foundational troubleshooting for connectivity, hardware, and performance issues across LAN, WAN, and VPN environments.
• Maintenance: Monitor network alerts, escalate complex issues, and perform routine system updates or upgrades.
• Security: Assist in implementing security controls, including firewall rules, MFA, and secure remote access.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation while collaborating with the service desk and senior staff.
• On Call Support: After initial onboarding/training period, serve in emergency support role one (1) week per month. Includes bonus and increased pay rate when working a call.

Requirements:

• Experience: 2–3 years of professional experience in IT or networking roles.
• Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
• Systems: Familiarity with networking hardware, firewalls and experience supporting Microsoft-based environments.
• Communication: Strong customer service oriented and problem-solving mindset with the ability to communicate technical details clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Preferred: Relevant certifications (Net+, Security+, A+) and previous experience in an MSP environment.
