Position Overview

Chen Moore and Associates (CMA), Inc., a well‐established multi‐disciplinary firm since 1986, is seeking a Entry Level / Early Career Engineer to join their civil engineering team. Working on projects ranging from design and permitting to construction oversight, you will collaborate with professionals to uphold CMA’s high standard of professionalism and quality service. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize workload efficiently while collaborating within a project team environment.
  • Work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting, and construction oversight.
  • Collect existing utility data, perform modeling and simulation, and contribute to site grading, water distribution, and sanitary sewer systems.
  • Prepare project design drawings using Micro Station and/or AutoCAD and develop project-specific detail drawings.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks while learning and adhering to client-specific standards.
  • Coordinate with team members and client representatives, including periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and construction support.
  • Contribute to all project phases from initiation and scheduling to execution and closeout, interfacing with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility, and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of FDOT standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station.
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in a related engineering field is a plus.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred, with the expectation of progressing towards a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
