Job Description
Position Overview
South Seattle College is seeking a full-time Marketing Manager (Communications Consultant 4) for the Communications Office. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, this role is primarily focused on coordinating comprehensive marketing and branding campaigns aimed at driving student enrollment, supporting retention, and boosting public awareness. The position, located at the main campus in West Seattle, offers a hybrid work schedule (remote and on-site) with occasional evening and weekend hours. Salary Range: $66,420 to $89,232 annually (DOE).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and branding initiatives, including districtwide campaigns.
- Conduct marketing research, assess outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Lead the creation and execution of marketing and communications plans to boost student recruitment, retention, and persistence.
- Coordinate advertising efforts across digital, print, broadcast, and outdoor outlets while negotiating media contracts.
- Support production of marketing materials including email campaigns, brochures, flyers, video and radio scripts.
- Generate, edit, and publish social media content to drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Develop, update, and analyze website content using a content management system (CMS) to ensure usability and accessibility.
- Manage aspects of the marketing budget in collaboration with the Director of Communications.
- Occasionally produce feature articles and assist in media relations and other administrative tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- Minimum of two years full-time professional experience in marketing, media relations, communications, or related areas.
- Proven ability to devise creative marketing strategies with measurable outcomes.
- Experience with advertising production, media buys, and coordination of marketing campaigns.
- Strong skills in gathering and analyzing data to assess marketing efforts, including experience with CRM and CMS platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and serve as a backup public information officer if required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education.
- Familiarity with the Seattle/King County media and advertising market.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Skills in photography and videography.
- Strong understanding of branding principles with experience enforcing brand standards.
