Position Overview
At Houston Methodist, the Marketing Specialist position partners with marketing management to drive preference and volume for assigned programs/service lines and maximize the impact of sponsorships. In this client-facing role, you will foster positive relationships with hospital stakeholders, physicians, and vendors while contributing to the development, implementation, measurement, and optimization of marketing and sponsorship plans. You will work collaboratively with digital, web, market research, and cross-functional teams to develop effective business cases and drive positive change in partnership with hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, marketing stakeholders, sponsored organizations, and vendors.
- Demonstrate leadership in meetings with active participation and clear identification of next steps.
- Educate stakeholders on strategic marketing initiatives while promoting a dynamic, team-focused work environment.
- Support the development and implementation of plans, campaigns, creative kickoffs, and event strategies with defined KPI measurement.
- Collaborate with creative teams to produce content for web, collateral, blogs, newsletters, advertising, and press releases.
- Advise clients on business decisions through needs assessments, problem-solving, and strategic insights.
- Analyze data to develop effective business cases and optimize marketing performance.
- Ensure marketing collateral and advertising align with established guidelines.
- Manage project budgets by tracking invoices and adhering to financial guidelines.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for strategic improvements and process optimizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Four years of experience in Marketing and Communications.
- Ability to perform the assigned job safely with ongoing skills and competency assessments.
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet, word-processing, and presentation software.
- Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to receive and act upon constructive feedback.
- Demonstrated initiative in managing projects and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and maintain organization while upholding confidentiality.
