Position Overview

In this critical role on the Core Infrastructure team, you will enable modern application architectures using public Cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, OCI) while leading a team of infrastructure engineers. As the Technology Product Manager, you will ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, integrate hardware/software systems, drive secure technology solutions, and mentor associates. This is an excellent opportunity to influence enterprise-level cloud strategy and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of approximately 15 engineers.
- Support Cloud Future capability enablement (GEN AI and Serverless).
- Create a roadmap for cloud product enhancements and features.
- Partner with vendor(s) to bring knowledge to Nationwide and keep up with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Oversee day-to-day management and maintenance of cloud platforms ensuring operational efficiency, resiliency, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish a strategic vision for the cloud platform aligned with overall business goals.
- Partner with Procurement and technology leaders on vendor relationship management and negotiations for major cloud investments.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to the platform.
- Direct staff to drive competitive unit cost through efficient product lifecycle, capacity management, and expense management.
- Ensure secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Align team’s knowledge with business domains and industry trends.
- Link ideation, new product development and introduction to business outcomes.
- Lead product risk and security management as the first line of defense.
- Assign roles and allocate resources in partnership with the Technology Product Executive.
- Ensure delivery availability and resiliency following established best practices.
- Oversee product lifecycle management including strategy and roadmap development.
- Collaborate with User Advocates to understand and integrate user feedback.
- Manage team skill maturity and foster effective product management practices.
- Oversee vendor management and sourcing activities.
- Drive release cadence and business feature alignment leveraging automation for speed.
- Provide guidance and support to associates through performance management, training, and development.
- Participate in strategic initiatives across Technology.
- Develop and manage project budgets and deployments, including personnel training and development.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ten years of knowledge in project management concepts and techniques.
- Experience leading multiple teams and assets across various technology platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis.
- Ability to develop, implement, and present application development strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a staff.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Capability to perform financial and risk analysis.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for interactions across all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of management experience is preferred.
- Technology certifications or designations (e.g., AWS, Azure, scripting and development languages, delivery methods, security) are encouraged.
