Position Overview
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE... In this role, you'll leverage your technical leadership and deep domain expertise to mentor Systems Engineers, support the sales process through engaging technical presentations and demos, and drive innovative solutions that connect Pure Storage and ecosystem technologies to measurable customer business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as role model and mentor for other Systems Engineers.
- Work alongside SEM to provide technical leadership and support.
- Develop an exhaustive understanding of what drives a customer's business and decision making.
- Be an active creator of social media content (e.g., blogs, posts, etc.).
- Connect technology solutions, including the Pure Storage portfolio and ecosystem offerings, to measurable customer outcomes.
- Partner with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to create a seamless customer experience and drive revenue growth.
- Refine sales strategy and tactics while taking command of technical responsibilities.
- Delight customers and teammates with your technical leadership and domain expertise on storage products, architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings.
- Undertake presentations, solution demonstrations, and EBC activity as needed.
- Capture requirements and translate customer business needs into innovative solutions.
- Contribute significantly and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Seek new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing/validation.
- Promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges.
- Liaise with product and technical marketing to produce materials that support overall alliance objectives.
- Stay current with the competition to ensure up-to-date and differentiated solution positioning.
- Move with market trends and the competitive landscape to promote thought leadership.
- Be seen as the solution expert in complex POC and TCO calculations.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Pre-sales experience is required.
- 8 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications; experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Creativity, empathy, an open mind, curiosity, and a desire for continuous learning.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.
- Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
- Experience contributing significantly and/or leading responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, on-prem, public cloud, provisioning automation, and containers.
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
- Experience with installation/configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems, shared memory, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
- Knowledge of VMware, local area networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and general networking.
- Curiosity and passion for technology and explaining new technology platforms to customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern web architecture a plus (LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture).
- Preference may be given to those with automotive experience.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus.

- Compensation: Annual base salary of $151,000 - $228,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level, and location.
