Job Description

Job Title

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for both advanced operational support (Level 3) and the design and implementation of network projects across the enterprise. This role requires a hands-on expert capable of troubleshooting complex issues while also leading deployments and contributing to network architecture decisions.

Essential Job Functions:

Advanced Network Operations (L3)

  • Act as escalation point for complex network incidents (routing, switching, wireless, WAN)
  • Lead deep-dive troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Ensure high availability and performance across all network environments
  • Participate in on-call rotation and critical incident response

Project Implementation & Delivery

  • Lead network deployments for new sites, relocations, and upgrades
  • Design and implement scalable solutions for WAN, LAN, and wireless environments
  • Work closely with ISPs and vendors to coordinate circuit delivery and activation
  • Optimize deployment timelines and reduce delivery bottlenecks
  • Contribute to network architecture and design standards
  • Recommend improvements to scalability, redundancy, and performance
  • Support adoption of modern networking solutions (SD-WAN, cloud, automation)
  • Develop and maintain templates and automation for network provisioning
  • Reduce manual configuration and improve consistency across sites
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Mentor junior engineers and support Service Desk escalations
  • Work cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)
    • WAN technologies and ISP management
    • Wireless networking
  • Proven experience in both:
    • Advanced troubleshooting (L3 level)
    • Experience coordinating with vendors and managing service delivery
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with SD-WAN
  • Experience with monitoring and performance tools
  • Exposure to VoIP/telephony (nice to have, not core)

Position Type: This is a full-time, W2 position with Hub Group – We are NOT able to provide sponsorship at this time

Salary: up to $95,000/year base salary + bonus eligibility
