Job Description

Position Overview

The Catering & Banquets Assistant Manager is responsible for the oversight and day to day operations within Catering & Banquets for Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. This position directly manages and provides oversight to the Assistant Catering & Banquet management team and multiple classifications of hourly team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Billing and processing of payments for events in a timely manner
  • Ensure that events are executed within the established timelines and to guest expectations
  • Maintain exceptional customer service at every interaction
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships on behalf of Dreamscape-Rio Las Vegas
  • Uphold safety and sanitation standards within all restaurants and Food and Beverage spaces
  • Uphold policies and procedures to ensure elevated guest service standards
  • Understand and communicate market trends and property-wide events with the team
  • Assess and communicate operational opportunities with Food and Beverage leadership
  • Ensure proper ordering and inventory in all areas of oversight
  • Engage in financial performance and analytic metrics in all areas of oversight
  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Scheduling of hourly team members
  • Provide a daily game plan to Banquet Servers and Bartenders

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of progressive Catering & Banquet operations experience
  • Experience leading large teams, both in a bargaining and non-bargaining environment
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands
  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, analytical thinker
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to sell new ideas/strategies at all levels of the organization
  • Proactive with strong attention to detail
  • Able to set priorities, manage work schedules, and meet department deadlines
  • High School Diploma or GED (required); at least 21 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of Food and Beverage management systems (InfoGenesis, Kronos, Stratton Warren, Workday, Daylight) and data analytics systems
