Job Description

Position Overview

Neos is seeking a Fraud Data Analyst/Cybersecurity Developer for a long-term contract with our client in Austin, Texas. This is an ONSITE role (candidates in Austin, TX area only) with a possibility to work a hybrid schedule. Note: TRS’ remote work policy may be guided by legislation mandated by the Texas Legislature and, if granted, a remote/hybrid schedule is not guaranteed. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform queries and generate reports to analyze fraud trends leveraging security and fraud analysis tools.
  • Maintain a code library to ensure continued performance and effectiveness of fraud detection tools.
  • Create, track, and analyze detailed analytic metrics packages for senior-level management.
  • Collect, process, preserve, and analyze digital evidence to support fraud investigations.
  • Respond to crises or urgent situations by mitigating immediate and potential threats using appropriate strategies.
  • Conduct fraud risk analysis, including threat, vulnerability, and probability assessments, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Read, interpret, and execute simple scripts on Windows and UNIX systems for automating tasks and processing data.
  • Assess and monitor fraud events related to system implementations and testing practices.
  • Perform event correlation using information gathered from various enterprise sources to determine the effectiveness of observed fraud events.
  • Assist with reviewing and improving policies related to fraud risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in programming, fraud analysis, fraud prevention, IT business analysis, or related IT fields.
  • One (1) year of required experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in related fields may be concurrent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fraud decision engines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using modeling and statistical algorithms with tools such as R, Python, Power BI, SQL, or SAS.
  • Familiarity with security monitoring tools, network and web assessment tools, and scripting languages.
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks as they pertain to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Relevant security certifications such as Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP), Security+, or similar.
  • Fraud-related certifications like Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent.
