Position Overview

The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year-long, paid program designed to help you transition from student nurse to registered nurse. You will gain hands-on experience through advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, and mentoring by experienced nurse leaders.
This program situates you within a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents, ensuring you develop critical clinical and decision-making skills while receiving individualized, patient-centered training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered and document care in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene as needed for any adverse reactions.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipating patient needs.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- Other certifications may be required during employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the State
- No previous experience required
- Some travel may be needed for training
