Position Overview
Aegis/Pinnacle Treatment Centers is a growing leader in addiction treatment services, providing care across the nation and impacting the lives of more than 35,000 patients daily. As a Medical Assistant, you will administer and coordinate the medical services necessary while creating a positive patient experience. This position carries a set schedule: Tuesday through Friday (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM) and Saturdays (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
Compensation: Pay Range: $17.50/per hour to $19.50/per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly.
- Observe urine samples for drug screens, test onsite, and prepare samples for laboratory confirmation.
- Obtain vital signs and report findings to the nurse as needed.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate lab work, and handle referrals for additional follow-up care.
- Maintain and update all medical records and patient documentation.
- Assist with purchasing and ordering of medical supplies.
- Provide education to pregnant patients regarding prenatal care and support the primary counselor in coordinating outside services.
- Attend team meetings and complete required training courses on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current medical assistant certificate or emergency medical technician certificate from an accredited teaching school (with transcripts as applicable).
- Experience as a medical assistant.
- Ability to maintain continuing education credits as required by the state.
- Ability to administer medications.
- Obtain CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification within 6 months of employment (or prior to hire as per state requirements).
- Licenses & Certifications (Required): CPR, Basic Life Support.
- Education (Required): Technical/other training or better; High School/GED or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with current certification (e.g., from AAMA, AMT, NCCT).
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- At least 2 years’ experience or knowledge in the field of behavioral health.
- Experience with blood draws.
- Additional preferred certifications: CNA, Phlebotomy Tech, CMA.
