Job Description

Position Overview

This senior level management position is directly accountable for the lease crude purchasing operations. It is responsible for increasing volumes of first purchased crude oil for the entire Lease Crude Gathering System covering Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. In this role, you will supervise up to five Senior Crude Representatives and maintain ongoing relationships with existing producer customers. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. Key Responsibilities

  • Solicit Lease Crude production not purchased by the Refinery that would be a profitable addition to the crude gathering business.
  • Supervise and train current staff.
  • Develop strategic initiatives and present ideas to expand the lease crude gathering business.
  • Secure transportation agreements to move lease crude to market.
  • Develop new sites for unload stations to shorten truck hauls and improve profitability.
  • Develop pricing strategies for lease crude ensuring competitiveness and optimal refinery economics.
  • Maintain close associations with Producers, customers, transportation providers, and trading partners to increase lease production volumes.
  • Coordinate with transportation and division order groups to secure new oil, discuss new leases, and assist with payment establishment for Lease Production.
  • Expand domestic Lease Crude supply into new gathering territories.
  • Develop cost-efficient incentives for Producers.
  • Implement innovative purchasing concepts to maintain a competitive edge in securing new business.
  • Regularly communicate progress, roadblocks, and queries to the SVP.
  • Maintain active memberships with professional organizations related to the petroleum industry.
  • Work safely in environments exposed to potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, accounting, geology, or a related field.
  • Experience Required: 15+ years' experience in crude oil supply acquisitions.
  • Experience in dealing with State and Federal agencies.
  • Thorough knowledge of exploration and production activities.
  • Experience in Division Order functions.
  • Thorough understanding of transportation operations and crude oil procurement.
  • Extensive list of desirable Producer contacts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trade arrangements and agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate.
  • Ability and commitment to work a flexible schedule to adapt to the availability of Producers.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree desirable.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
