A Brief Overview

The Sr. Manager of Global Public Relations, reporting to the General Manager of Public Relations at ASICS headquarters in Japan, plays a crucial role in formulating and executing ASICS' corporate communication strategies in the Americas region, both in the short and medium to long term. This position contributes to enhancing ASICS' corporate value by appropriately delivering information that increases corporate value to business professionals, investors, and potential investors—such as the company's vision, medium-term strategies (mid-term management plans), financial statements, and innovations. This role is especially important in building relationships with global media, driving TOP PR initiatives, and securing media exposure opportunities. By disseminating key messages through appropriate media channels aligned with PR's annual key moments and major events, this position helps generate corporate-related news.

Leadership Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Identify PR opportunities, align them with the shared goals from HQ PR team, track success, and maintain accountability for achieving objectives.
  • Present recommendations, identify improvements in processes and outcomes, support the rollout of new initiatives, and evaluate completed projects to drive continuous improvement at the department and team levels.
  • Utilize market research and data reports to identify trends and PR opportunities for ASICS.
  • Develop, execute, and manage specific media strategies and plans based on the corporate PR strategy, including exposure management.
  • Plan, execute, and manage strategies related to TOP PR in the United States.
  • Strengthen relationships with media in line with the PR strategy.
  • Provide professional support to the Head of PR in preparation for key corporate meetings.
  • Offer precise language (English) support in the creation of global releases and internal communication documents.
  • Conduct highly engaged team management.
  • Monitor news from journalists and the market, analyze it, and develop corrective plans as necessary to mitigate risks.

  • Consistently meets or exceeds public relations goals and KPIs while managing multiple complex campaigns and initiatives within established timelines and budgets
  • Leverages strong interpersonal skills to motivate team members, gain stakeholder buy-in, and drive positive organizational change through strategic communication.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of public relations best practices, media relations, crisis communication, digital marketing, and brand management at a senior management level
  • Develops and implements strategic public relations vision, goals, and initiatives that align with organizational objectives and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Exercises sound decision-making skills in high-pressure situations, particularly during crisis management and sensitive communication matters

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree: in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience required
  • Experience: 3-5 years experience effectively managing and leading direct reports
  • Progressive Experience: 9-11 years of progressive public relations experience in the United States, with demonstrated expertise in media relations, strategic communications, and brand management
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency: Proficiency with PR measurement tools, social media management platforms, and analytics software
  • Integrated Communication Strategies: Experience developing and executing integrated communication strategies across multiple channels
  • Track Record: Track record of managing large-scale product launches, corporate announcements, or major campaigns

SALARY / PAY RANGE

$125,000-$130,000
