Position Overview
Applied Control Engineering, Inc. (ACE) is seeking an entry-level Controls Engineer to join our growing team. Based in multiple locations including Newark, DE; Baltimore, MD; Houston, TX; Valley Forge, PA; Allentown, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Danbury, CT; Taunton, MA; and Denver, CO, this role offers immediate on-the-job training alongside experienced automation experts. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that help local manufacturing industries achieve energy efficiency and sustainable business practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, and documentation of systems that meet customer requirements.
- Communicate with customers, both at the office and on-site, to present work and propose unique solutions.
- Travel to customer sites to implement and test project deliverables.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Lead Engineers to assess project status and determine the best approach for successful completion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, Bioengineering, Industrial, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- In-depth knowledge of programming concepts.
- Thorough knowledge of business application software (MS Office package).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
- Flexible and cooperative working style.
- Willingness to work off-hours when required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and agree to drug testing and/or background checks as mandated.
Preferred Qualifications
- General understanding of process control or other manufacturing processes.
- Prior experience with or exposure to PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES technologies.
- A self-starter who works well individually or as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities.
