Job Description

Position Overview

The Merchant Strategy & Operations team is dedicated to delivering best‑in‑class restaurant selection for consumers while building innovative products and services to help merchants grow profitably. As a Merchant Strategy & Operations Manager at DoorDash, you will lead the support experience for our merchants – owning both the strategy and execution – to drive merchant satisfaction, retention, and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategize – Build the strategy for helping merchants succeed once they’re live on DoorDash by providing fast and seamless solutions that minimize operational friction.
  • Experiment, Analyze and Implement – Use data‑driven decision making and sound business judgment to drive go‑to‑market efforts and execute new initiatives.
  • Influence – Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, operations, marketing, sales, finance, and analytics teams to land key initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, banking, technology or related fields. High‑growth or early‑stage startup experience and prior team leadership are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dive deep using both quantitative and qualitative data; SQL experience is a strong plus.
  • Ownership mentality with the capability to apply first‑principles thinking to revolutionize processes and inspire action.
  • Proven leadership with the ability to inspire followership across levels and functions.
  • Excellent communication skills to distill complex topics into clear, concise summaries for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build plans, stay focused, and consistently achieve goals.
  • Experience launching finance, tax, and/or reporting products for customers.
  • Background in managing teams and driving large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and a strong problem‑solving mindset.
  • Persuasive with excellent relationship‑building skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when evaluating options and determining appropriate courses of action.

Compensation

The starting pay will range from $136,000—$200,000 USD, determined by factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, opportunities for equity grants are available – talk to your recruiter for more information.
