United States Steel Corporation is looking for qualified an intern to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Our FP&A team is the financial business partner to various organizations to guide and influence decision making through accurate and timely reporting and analysis. We are seeking interns who can participate in various stages of the finance and accounting process along with special assignments. The individuals will not only gain intimate corporate knowledge of FP&A but also gain networking exposure to individuals throughout the corporation. This individual should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of financial planning and analysis.
The new interns will be assigned to a particular FP&A area and a peer coach to shadow.
Responsibilities
- They will learn USS’ business and learn to integrate themselves with the people and culture.
- Internship assignments shadow the experience and responsibilities of various professionals to ascertain their interest in finance and accounting functions.
- The position will undergo various FP&A analyses, operational and commercial studies, data and process analysis for various levels within the organization.
- Participants will also interact with various departments and management to demonstrate their communication skills.
- Assignments are aimed at being challenging and rewarding.
- Assignments and duties are driven by organizational and business needs.
Candidate Qualifications
- Be authorized to work: in the US without sponsorship
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient: in Microsoft Suite Office, especially Excel
- Organized: with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
- Creative and Flexible.
- A genuine career interest: in finance, operations, or data and analytics
- Open to learning: and exploring a variety of finance and operational processes
- Demonstrate: analytical skills and business acumen.

Education
- Candidates must be: full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
- Educational Majors: Accounting, Finance, Business preferred. Other majors considered will be Economics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related.
