The Senior Security Engineer will design, install, manage, document, and maintain enterprise security systems and standards across commonly used platforms (e.g. cloud, on-premises). The role supports end-user experience through collaboration with other IT functions, providing specifications, analyzing and recommending solutions, and delivering high-impact projects in alignment with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as escalation contact and subject matter expert for security operations and IT teams regarding security solutions and practices.
• Mentor team members on technical and security methodologies.
• Continuously improve the security program with automation and orchestration scripting for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for design and implementation projects.
• Draft and recommend operating procedures and changes to information security practices and solutions.
• Train and engage operations and support personnel on security solutions.
• Advise on trends, threats, and emerging security risks relevant to the organization.
• Engineer effective solutions that securely enable and protect while aligning with compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with operational groups for comprehensive security program management and education.
• Improve processes, procedures, and operational maturity of the security program.
• Communicate intelligence and effectiveness reports to supervision.
• Design and implement security solutions for various platforms.
• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and audits to evaluate control effectiveness.
• Assist operations in incident response and contribute to post-incident analysis.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and configuration standards to meet regulatory and client requirements.
• Review Governance, Risk, and Compliance platforms to identify opportunities for lowering security risks.
• Implement and maintain access control systems for new enhancement opportunities.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure software development practices.
• Monitor and analyze security events and logs to ensure proper backend correlation and functionality.
• Deploy and help maintain a secure cloud infrastructure and security controls including network security, data protection, and compliance configuration.
• Assist the Security Architect with threat modeling and risk assessments for new projects and cloud initiatives.
• Build security automation scripts and tools to streamline operations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices throughout project lifecycles.
• Participate in incident response design and execution related to security engineering.
• Ensure compliance with security frameworks and regulations by engineering and implementing necessary controls.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in information security practices with demonstrated technical problem solving and advanced scripting skills (Python, Powershell).
• Working knowledge of key frameworks including NIST, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, and ISO 270XX.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and technical writing/documentation proficiency.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a flexible schedule with potential on-call responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of information security experience.
