Job Description

Position Overview

Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. As a Product Reliability Engineer (PRE), you will be at the forefront of ensuring our products remain stable and available 24/7. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, customer-facing, product, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, develop health metrics, and implement long-term solutions that improve the overall reliability of our software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of Palantir's products and processes.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing, product, and infrastructure teams on the development and deployment of scalable, reliable software.
  • Deliver end-to-end improvements to stability by proactively preventing issues via telemetry and automation.
  • Maintain and improve the operational capacity of our production databases, including incident resolution and workflow streamlining.
  • Reduce operational overhead by making data-driven decisions about investments in stability and reliability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to coordinate Palantir’s response to critical incidents, ensuring minimal customer impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or another technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to break down and explain complex concepts and a strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with dynamic objectives.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a distributed team.
  • Experience coding with Java, Go and/or web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails) is a plus.
  • Experience with distributed computing systems and/or cloud infrastructures (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, YARN, Kubernetes, AWS) is a plus.

  • Compensation: The starting salary is approximately $82,000/year plus around $9,000/year in equity (RSUs). Total compensation is determined by your qualifications, work experience, and skills.
