Position Overview

The New Grad/Residency position in Other Specialty Nursing at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside is designed for recent nursing graduates seeking to begin their careers in a supportive healthcare environment. In this full-time role, you will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assist with patient observation, documentation, and the implementation of care plans. The position emphasizes the development of clinical skills and judgment through participation in transition to practice programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Assist with patient care including observation and documentation of patient healthcare needs.
• Communicate pertinent information to the registered nurse and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the direction of the registered nurse preceptor.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Communicate, monitor, and record changes in patient condition as appropriate.
• Engage and participate in transition to practice programs to develop clinical thinking and judgment.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credential from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
