Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the work of a moderate sized group of repair workers, helpers, and others engaged in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of automotive and other gasoline-operated equipment including trucks, passenger vehicles, and other construction equipment.
- Assign work and provide instructions relative to work orders and repair work.
- Inspect repair work in process and upon completion.
- Assign subordinates to maintain and repair units and parts in pumps involving tasks such as tightening pump rods, re-facing pump seats, fitting keys in pump impellers, grinding valves, and checking bearing adjustments in pump barrel.
- Ensure that required parts are available.
- Review records prepared by subordinates.
- Prepare requisitions for supplies, materials, and parts.
- Maintain records such as employee schedules, lubrication of automotive equipment, and duties performed and generate reports accordingly.
- Perform tests on equipment before and after repairing to determine operating condition.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduation or GED with successful completion of coursework in shop and auto repair work.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in assembling, repairing, and maintaining light duty, heavy duty, or other automotive equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
