Job Description

Position Overview

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Assistant/Associate Engineer position. This recruitment will be used to fill vacancies in Construction Management, Development Services, Design Engineering, and Asset Management & Reliability. Compensation: Assistant Engineer: $35.38 - $54.88 Hourly; Associate Engineer: $38.23 - $59.27 Hourly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construction Management: Assist project management staff with engineering design, construction management, contract oversight, and field inspections; interface with district staff, utility agencies, consultants, contractors, and governmental agencies; continuously improve practices; ensure contractor conformance.
  • Development Services: Perform civil plan review using published standards; provide detailed comments and public information; interpret policies, procedures, and regulations; apply CCWRD Service Rules, DCSWCS, and UPC; utilize wastewater engineering design principles.
  • Design Engineering: Support project management with engineering design and document control; read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; resolve design challenges through collaboration; review hydraulic data and maintain system models.
  • Asset Management & Reliability: Analyze equipment failures and reliability; facilitate cross-functional groups; lead commissioning, condition assessments, and special projects; manage consultant and contractor relations.

Required Qualifications

  • For Assistant Engineer – Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (with up to two years substitution).
  • For Associate Engineer – In addition to the above, a minimum of two (2) years of civil engineering experience; experience in a public agency setting is desirable.
  • Possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Documented education and work experience as specified in the application guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a public agency setting is desirable.
  • Possession of a Nevada Engineer-in-Training Certificate is preferred.
