Key Responsibilities
- Operate locomotives in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to allsafety protocolsand procedures.
- Monitor train performance and make adjustments to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods and passengers.
- Communicate effectively with train crew members, dispatchers, and other personnel for smooth operations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of locomotives and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Follow all federal and company regulations regarding hours of service, train speed, and other operational guidelines.
- Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Continuously monitor and assess train conditions and potential hazards, taking appropriate action to prevent accidents or delays.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices, implementing them in daily operations.
- Collaborate with train crew members to troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues during trips.
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and shippers, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, representing Union Pacific in all interactions.

Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of train operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid engineer's license
