Position Overview
We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Manager (Assistant Controller) who thrives on managing processes within a growing company. On a regular basis, this person will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the accounting processes and monitor all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems (NetSuite). The Finance Manager will also work directly with senior management to develop and deliver actionable, insightful reporting that help drive the business. This is a full-time position, but part-time and flexible options (~30 hours/week) will be considered, including presence in the Charlotte office at least 3 days per week for a minimum of 5 hours. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, sales channel transactions, inventory accounting, account reconciliations, etc.
- Manage the monthly financial close with the outsourced accounting team
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reporting
- Manage outsourced Sales Tax team to ensure compliance and accurate remittance of state returns
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Technology teams to optimize processes and ERP (NetSuite) functionality
- Develop with senior management key performance analysis and dashboards
- Coordinate with external CPA and income tax advisors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional accounting certification – CPA preferred
- 4+ years prior accounting experience, preferably in a small-to-medium sized growth business
- Advanced skills in Excel and accounting software (NetSuite preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- Proven track record of building and managing accounting processes, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and engaging with senior management in a rapidly growing organization
