Position Overview
Govini transforms Defense Acquisition from an outdated manual process to a software‐driven strategic advantage for the United States. Our flagship product, Ark, empowers multiple teams with AI‐enabled applications and best‐in‐class data. As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at Govini, you will be accountable for building new and differentiated 0‐to‐1 capabilities in the field alongside customers. You will work directly with users to understand pain points and rapidly iterate on solutions. This full‐time role is located in Arlington, VA and may require up to 75% travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend time onsite with users, listening to concerns and identifying pain points.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to scope, architect, and deliver 0‐to‐1 product initiatives and prototypes.
- Build and deliver working, customer‐facing prototypes.
- Assess, prioritize, and address gaps in prototypes based on user feedback in partnership with product managers.
- Fail fast, iterate quickly, and continuously improve solutions.
- Conduct customer site visits to diagnose and understand challenges.
- Participate in the end‐to‐end software development of new features and design capabilities.
- Craft clean, testable, and maintainable code.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of front-end or back-end software development experience (SQL, Java, and/or Typescript/React).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A burning desire to excel in a challenging, fast-paced tech environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current possession of a U.S. security clearance or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship.
- Experience or exposure to the nuances of a startup or entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience working within the boundaries of a federally accredited software environment.
- Experience in a customer-facing or consulting role.
