Position Overview

K2 Insurance Services, LLC seeks a full-time Business Analyst who will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution. Working closely with insurance business leaders and data engineers, you will translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications—focusing on insurance data processed using SQL and Python on the Databricks platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with insurance business leaders, conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather and document detailed requirements and business processes.
  • Requirement Analysis: Decompose complex business requirements into manageable components, identify data dependencies and sources, and prioritize based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Technical Specification Development: Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications by working with data engineers; create data models, data dictionaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Data Mapping and Transformation: Define data mapping rules and transformation logic; assist in developing SQL queries and scripts for extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes while validating data quality.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance standards, implement data quality and security measures, and maintain data lineage documentation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and build strong cross-functional relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of insurance business processes and data.
  • Experience working with data-engineering toolsets like Databricks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of SQL and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
