Junior Network Administrator

Position Overview

As aJunior Network Administratorat ValidaTek, you will be responsible for the design, installation, analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer networks. In this role you will develop and maintain a network ensuring maximum performance and reliability for users by installing and configuring server hardware and software infrastructures, diagnosing and resolving network problems, and maintaining required certifications from key vendors. You will also be responsible for keeping the network secure against various threats, recommending and scheduling necessary repairs, creating charts and diagrams to explain network operations, training managers and staff in the proper use of network resources, preparing help desk checklists and processes, and supporting training programs. This position is designed for those beginning their careers in network administration, involving closely supervised, task-oriented work with clear instructions and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain computer networks.
• Develop and maintain a network that provides maximum performance and reliability for users.
• Perform installation and configuration of new server hardware and software infrastructures.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems.
• Maintain required certifications from key vendors.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of network principles, theories, and concepts.
• Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with supervisors and project leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL v3 certificationpreferred.
