Position Overview
Netflix is transforming entertainment globally by promoting original, exclusive content to millions of people. As part of the Content & Conversation Applied Science and Analytics (CASAS) DSE team, the Senior Data Scientist will provide key insights and thought partnership to marketing decision makers. Working across global marketing teams, Marketing BizOps, consumer insights, and finance & strategy, you will scope and execute deep dive analyses and experiments that drive business impact. In this role, you will also coordinate with DSE peers and have ample opportunity for project ownership, leadership, and direct influence on impactful business decisions. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary with a range of $170K - $720K.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a strategic thought partner with business stakeholders to define high-impact analytical problems and develop innovative data solutions.
- Develop statistical models to explain campaign engagement, performance, and other key behavioral patterns.
- Facilitate the Marketing cross-functional DSE pod, ensuring alignment between DSE partnership efforts and marketing initiatives.
- Translate analytic insights into actionable recommendations and clearly communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Identify and proactively socialize marketing insights that could be impactful across other business areas.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders using clear insights and recommendations.
- Adept at cultivating strong partnerships and engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Proven ability in leading through influence along with exceptional facilitation, planning, and organizational skills.
- Domain expertise in Marketing measurement with strong statistical knowledge, including predictive modeling and understanding of incrementality versus correlation.
- Deep understanding of experimentation techniques, including power calculations and quasi-experimental design.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with distributed analytic processing technologies (S3, Presto, Hive, and Spark).
- Expertise in Python or R for statistical analysis.
- A self-starter who thrives under a high level of autonomy and is enthusiastic about Netflix culture.
