Position Overview
Texas A&M University's College of Architecture seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead strategic communications, branding, and marketing efforts. Reporting directly to the Dean, you will drive content across print, digital, and social media to elevate the College’s national and global reputation while ensuring compliance with university brand and accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaged, hands-on leadership and supervision while fostering a culture of collaboration and shared achievement.
- Establish operational procedures, performance metrics, and workflow efficiencies aligned with College and university priorities.
- Direct the planning, production, and dissemination of content across print, digital, and social media channels.
- Collaborate with College leadership to develop and implement marketing, communications, and branding strategies that support key initiatives such as student recruitment, alumni engagement, research impact, and community relations.
- Ensure all communications and digital properties meet Texas A&M University brand standards and accessibility requirements, while leveraging emerging technology-driven solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and communications, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven experience in higher education marketing and communications.
- Knowledge of Title II and accessibility compliance in digital and print communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with branding and communications within an academic or research environment.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools, customer relationship management systems, content management platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- Project Management Certification.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff for optimal performance.
- Experience collaborating with academic and administrative stakeholders.
- Vast experience with digital media channels and at least 5 years of experience with emerging technology.
