Security Systems Technician

Position Overview

Performs or assists with installation, programming, and checkout of systems including security, access control, CCTV, audio, and mass notification systems.

Salary: USD $25.00/Yr. - USD $32.00/Yr.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and installation of security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings.
• Provide leadership on small projects and act as the company liaison with customer representatives.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs with a complete working knowledge of the systems.
• Maintain project documentation, create red-lined field drawings, and adhere to all quality and safety standards.
• Utilize various tools including basic hand tools, multimeter, and other specialized equipment for installations.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Experience Required: 3-5 years in security installation.
• Knowledge of company/industry codes and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to interpret blueprints and service documents while maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Capacity to work at heights and in confined spaces, including lifting up to 50 pounds and moving up to 75 pounds.
• Strong critical thinking skills, self-motivation, and a professional image.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
