Position Overview
Canva is a high-growth SaaS company valued at $32B with over 220 million monthly active users globally. Our Corporate Accounting team builds the financial foundation that supports rapid international expansion. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead a team of 5 and drive improvements in our general ledger operations, automation, and process enhancements. This fully remote role operates from Washington with ties to our flagship office in Sydney and our US hub in San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing General Ledger Accounting team, cultivating a growth mindset and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee the monthly close process including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting.
- Set the strategy for automation and process improvements to streamline GL operations and reduce close timelines, leveraging tech-enabled solutions — including AI.
- Strengthen internal controls and support SOX compliance, audit readiness, and process documentation.
- Collaborate as a strategic thought partner with FP&A, Tax, Finance Systems, and operational teams to simplify and scale financial processes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading Manager-level accounting teams in high-growth and public company environments; CPA (or equivalent) required.
- Deep expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
- Proven track record of driving accounting transformation, with experience in AI-enabled automation.
- Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills with an ability to influence and drive alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in dynamic, high-growth environments.
- A roll-up-your-sleeves mindset that balances strategic planning with hands-on execution.
