Position Overview
Raytheon Company Managed by Collins Aerospace presents an exciting opportunity at Applied Signal Technology (AST). AST is seeking a Principal Reverse Systems Engineer who is passionate about strengthening our nation’s security. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic, highly collaborative team that develops tactical SIGINT solutions including high-capacity broadband communications, signal processing, and wireless communications. This is an ONSITE position at our Anaheim Hills, CA location. An active and transferable U.S. government issued Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support multiple programs by collaborating with experienced R&D teams on system development and deployments for national security.
- Generate briefings and present material to team members, customers, and AST management as needed.
- Travel up to 25% as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of practical experience in systems architecture and systems engineering.
- Proven experience working with customers, end users, hardware design teams, and software design teams.
- Experience in reverse engineering of embedded systems.
- Background in signal processing to develop proof-of-concept (PoC) use case scenarios and prototypes.
- Skilled in developing system-level designs along with high level control and data interfaces.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Active and transferable Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) U.S. government security clearance is required prior to start, with the ability to obtain a polygraph after start.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science (MS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Experience with RF, optical, and/or electrical telecommunications standards and processing techniques.
- Proven experience in the Design, Development, Integration, and Test of Open Systems Architectures.
- Experience in developing proof-of-concept (PoC) use case scenarios to create novel waveforms.
- Ability to formalize, develop, and document requirements, plans, and procedures from customer interactions and statements of work.
- Solid understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and signal processing fundamentals.
- Existing Top-Secret SCI with Polygraph (active within the last 24 months) is a plus.
