Position Overview

Our client, a leading supplier to the automotive industry, is seeking a Software LabVIEW Engineer at their Amherst, New York facility. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy applying superior analytical and reasoning skills in developing and modifying LabVIEW applications for automotive component testing while being part of an organization that offers excellent opportunities for growth and development and a diverse training program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify LabVIEW applications for testing automotive components.
  • Design control solutions integrating industrial process controls, signal conditions, and NI hardware with LabVIEW applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to test system control and accuracy.
  • Execute and support projects utilizing your project management experience.
  • Write tests and calibrate procedures for new or modified test systems.
  • Interact professionally with engineering customers, colleagues, managers, and directors.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with automated test systems.
  • Proven LabVIEW experience.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Fluency in English; additional working-level language skills are an asset.
  • Knowledge of PC-based architecture with basic repair and upgrades.
  • Understanding of industrial process controls and a wide scope of instrumentation including pressure, temperature, and flow devices.
  • Familiarity with National Instruments hardware platforms such as FieldPoint and CompactRIO.
  • Understanding of calibration and electrical principles.
  • Experience in controlling and communicating with electronic test equipment via interfaces like RS232, Ethernet, USB, and GPIB.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with refrigeration principles.
  • Understanding of noise and vibration principles.
  • Experience with Rockwell RSLogix programming.
  • Exposure to Wonderware applications.
