RN Med Surg - Registered Nurse Per Diem PRN - $51.89 per hour

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the Medical-Surgical unit
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Implement, evaluate, and adjust patient care plans per hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patient health status, vital signs, and report any changes
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment
• Document patient information, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Follow facility policies while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 months Med Surg experience in the last 2 years (preferred)
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (or a compact state license)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and/or CPR certification
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and protocols
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between facilities
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and reliable care
