Job Description

Position Overview

UMC Physicians is seeking a dedicated full-time Customer Service Advocate to join our dynamic team at a busy clinic. In this role, you will be at the heart of patient care—greeting patients in person and over the telephone, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operations. This position is part of the Internal Medicine department at Health & Wellness Hospital. Location: UMC Internal Medicine at Health & Wellness Hospital. Schedule: 8am-5pm Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients by greeting them in person and via telephone.
  • Answer a multi-line telephone system and perform clerical duties, including accurate patient registration using the UMCP computer system.
  • Obtain benefits verifications, secure signed consent forms, and collect co-payments at the time of service.
  • Maintain a friendly, calm, and professional environment for patients, their families, and friends.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma, typing speed of 30 wpm, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Goal oriented with a professional demeanor, servant’s heart, and a high level of punctuality and dependability.
  • Previous experience in a general office capacity is preferred.
