Warehouse/Forklift Operator

Position Overview

Hood Distribution is looking for a Warehouse/Forklift Operator for our Jacksonville, FL facility. Hood Distribution is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, moldings, and related wood products whose customers include cabinet shops, millwork houses, retail lumber yards, and similar businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate electric forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
• Load and unload trailers during distribution operations
• Manage and support daily warehouse activities with minimal supervision
• Handle lumber and plywood products while maintaining quality and safety standards
• Consent to background checks and drug screening as part of the selection process

Required Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations and distribution
• Proven ability to operate electric forklifts
• Reliable transportation and ability to work independently
• Good math skills, customer service aptitude, and capability to read a tape measure
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Willingness to provide documentation of legal work status in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift operation certification
• Knowledge of lumber and/or plywood products
• High school diploma/GED
