Job Description

Position Overview

The Data Analyst position at Persevere – a national non‐profit committed to decreasing recidivism and increasing successful reentry for individuals impacted by the criminal justice system – is a full‐time, temporary role for 7 months (remote within the US). Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for gathering, cleaning, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data to drive program improvement, fund development, and compliance with federal reporting requirements. Compensation for this role is the equivalent of $65k per year or $37,916 for this assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage systems to track participant progress, employer engagement, and program milestones.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and BI reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and external evaluator to define metrics and evaluation frameworks.
  • Analyze documents to understand reporting expectations and coordinate data collection and sharing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Monitor data quality and implement ongoing quality control processes to ensure accuracy and privacy compliance.
  • Analyze and interpret program data to identify trends, gaps, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Create visual reports and presentations for stakeholders, funders, and partners.
  • Contribute to developing a replicable data model for scaling the work nationwide.
  • Develop procedures and train staff on data collection and interpretation, providing ongoing support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, economics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a nonprofit, workforce, or education setting.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with CRMs or case management systems.
  • Strong ability to tell stories through data and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-driven with a passion for social impact.
