Entry Level Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design Engineering: Produce innovative engineering designs for energy distribution projects.
• Project Management: Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOMs, estimate costs, and more.
• Support Major Projects: Work on major distribution projects for the utility industry using CAD for drafting/design work and ArcFM.
• Leadership Projects: Engage in projects related to electric power distribution and leadership, specifically make-ready and smart antenna initiatives.
• Construction Support: Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure standards are met.
• Site Inspections: Travel as needed, perform inspections, and return to the office to complete design work.

Required Qualifications

• Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 0-1 year of experience or basic knowledge in the electric utility industry, including primary and secondary distribution systems and utility standards.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, self-motivation, and a desire to learn.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for working with diverse teams and experienced distribution system designers.
