Position Overview

Under the direction of the Engineering Lead, the Mechanical Engineer plays an integral role in taking new equipment projects from initial kickoff through design, manufacturing support, and final assembly. Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineer on assigned projects, collaborating with team leads, engineering manager, project management, shop, and sales.
- Manage the engineering portion of projects in line with defined scope of work.
- Hold self and team accountable to company and customer timelines and objectives.
- Communicate and document daily project status and release dates.
- Lead or assist engineering efforts with teams of mechanical and design engineers.
- Perform calculations and design equipment using standard engineering methodologies.
- Schedule design and customer review meetings, ensuring timely release dates.
- Support Manufacturing, Assembly, and Field Installation teams by addressing design queries.
- Participate in the development of SOPs and design guides as assigned.
- Demonstrate project focus and effective partnership with project managers.
- Assist with modeling, ensuring fit, form, function, and manufacturability.
- Utilize standard designs and SOPs to deliver products on time and within budget.
- Develop assembly and installation drawings that meet customer objectives.
- Help drive and support BCT’s Culture and Core Values.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software.
- Demonstrated ability to design equipment that functions effectively while meeting budget and timeline requirements.
- Ability to prioritize workload and achieve company objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
