Position Overview

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, a 140-year legacy leader in pediatric care and ranked in all 10 specialties by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a Clinical Prior Authorization Department (CPAD) Manager. This role drives the development and management of a program that ensures high quality, accurate, and efficient prior authorization services while promoting operational excellence and staff growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a program for prior authorization in collaboration with Financial Clearance and Ambulatory Division Leadership.
  • Manage day-to-day operations including staffing, scheduling, and performance oversight of CPAD employees.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy teams and clinical staff to optimize workflow and ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • Oversee recruitment, staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement process improvements, cost savings, and revenue enhancement strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Pharmacist License.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist.
  • At least 1 year of experience with specialty medications or direct prior authorization.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Pharmacy Benefits Management.
  • Background in commercial and/or Medicaid prescription drug plans or formularies.
  • Experience in formulary management and comprehensive drug benefit strategies.

Compensation

  • Salary: $135,200.00 - $223,080.00
  • This range reflects competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, along with a comprehensive rewards package.
