Position Overview

The Training & Onboarding Manager is responsible for the successful development and execution of onboarding activities and training programs across RES’ North American Operations & Maintenance portfolio. This role plays a critical part in transitioning renewable energy projects—wind, solar, and energy storage—from construction to commercial operation, while also designing and delivering structured training for both field and office staff on the CMMS platform and O&M standards. Compensation: Anticipated base salary range of $86,000 - $107,000 with bonus eligibility; final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivers structured onboarding programs for site teams with targeted training on operational policies, safety practices, and CMMS tools.
- Manages the end-to-end onboarding process for renewable energy facilities, ensuring compliance with construction contracts, O&M agreements, and corporate standards.
- Coordinates across Construction, Asset Management, Engineering, Safety, and Compliance to ensure operational readiness and procedural alignment.
- Interprets complex project agreement negotiations to clearly define and meet all contractual obligations during onboarding.
- Monitors commissioning progress, identifies delays or equipment faults, and escalates issues promptly to leadership.
- Oversees contractor performance, safety compliance, quality control, and readiness for NERC and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains centralized data systems and leverages data to develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Administers CMMS implementation and user training, including asset setup, preventive maintenance, inspections, and work order management.
- Hosts training workshops and refresher sessions to reinforce procedural adoption, safety accountability, and cross-functional communication.
- Collaborates with Procurement, Finance, and leadership to align onboarding activities with operational budgets and resource readiness.
- Represents the onboarding and training program in client engagements, audits, and business development discussions.
- Models punctuality, compliance with the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies while acting as a subject matter expert for CMMS capabilities.
- Promotes a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and safety by leading through example and enforcing safe practices.
- Evaluates new CMMS functionalities and onboarding tools to ensure scalability and effective training impact.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 1+ year of office-based management experience required; 3+ years of site construction, commissioning, or operational experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of CMMS systems including implementation, training, and reporting.
- Strong skills in instructional design, training facilitation, and applying adult learning principles.
- Technical proficiency with network equipment, troubleshooting, and understanding of accounting concepts.
- Basic electrical (low voltage), switching (high voltage), and mechanical skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements including NERC and OSHA.
- Domestic travel (5-15%) and a valid Driver’s license are required.
