Position Overview
In this role at Grant Thornton, you will serve as a Financial Due Diligence Senior Associate focusing on middle-market transactions. You will work on buy-side and sell-side assignments, provide valuable financial insights, and support transaction advisory engagements that help clients optimize and unlock value. Key Responsibilities
- Perform in buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, including providing carve-outs and similar services to clients, private equity investors, and asset-based lenders.
- Help organizations realize the potential of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and various capital market transactions.
- Conduct financial due diligence on key areas of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Formulate questions and propose adjustments based on the identification of key risks and business drivers.
- Lead the analysis of operational data, net working capital, debt, and debt-like items.
- Draft Quality of Earnings and tailored transaction advisory reports highlighting financial findings and drivers of sustainable performance.
- Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development calls.
- Meet or exceed targeted billing hours and supervise, train, and mentor associates through performance assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2 to 6 years of work experience in consulting or transaction advisory services at a national level.
- Solid experience in accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, and transaction advisory services.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly growing practice.
- Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree is preferred.
- CPA or CPA-in-process is preferred.
- Prior relevant consulting experience is a plus.

- Compensation: Base salary range in the firm's Chicago and Cleveland offices is $96,000 – $144,000.
