Entry Level: Lighting, Audio-Visual Technician

Position Overview

(VSP) is a multi-operational production company specializing in weddings, multimedia, audio-visual, and talent. Operating from our brand-new state-of-the-art facility in downtown Springfield, our mission is to create memorable experiences, elevate brands, and unleash talent while setting industry standards.

In this part-time/full-time role, you will be a key member of our team working under the guidance of our AV Director. You’ll be responsible for prepping, programming, loading, setting up, and striking equipment for events including conferences, concerts, and weddings. You will interact directly with clients, provide exceptional customer service, and help ensure flawless event execution. This position is ideal for a recent college graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in the industry. Compensation: $20.00 per hour; Job Type: Full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming and prepping equipment
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Setting up and striking equipment
• Equipment maintenance
• Operating live events (audio, lighting, video, projection, photobooth, talent assistance, etc.)
• Conducting annual inventory
• Engaging with clients and providing exceptional customer service
• Handling miscellaneous tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

• No prior experience required
• Own laptop and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Proficient in operating large vans and box trucks (CDL license not mandatory)
• Willingness for out-of-state travel, extended stays, and weekend work
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a fun, engaging personality
• Two references from past employers

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion and commitment for the entertainment industry
• Punctuality and reliability
• Knowledge of connecting, troubleshooting, and operating audio, lighting, or projection systems
• Additional skills (e.g., photography, camera operation, graphic design, proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or CAD) are a plus
