Position Overview

The Creative Strategist of Partner Management on the Hotel, Bulk and Institutions (HBI) team provides critical day-to-day support to the team in the distribution and marketing of HBO and HBO Max. This role is ideal for someone highly creative, visually sharp, and adept at writing clear, engaging, and targeted content. You will blend strong visual storytelling with compelling copywriting to drive sales, distribution, marketing, and event strategies into impactful creative executions. In addition, you will oversee the logistics of industry-related and team events, serve as the liaison between Partner Marketing and the HBI team, and assist internal stakeholders and distribution partners. This position reports to the Director of HBI Partner Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Strategy & Storytelling: Interpret sales, marketing, and distribution strategies into clear creative concepts; develop strategic ideas to elevate messaging; and collaborate with creative agencies to execute marketing tactics.
  • Copywriting & Messaging Development: Write compelling copy for presentation decks, business proposals, print and digital advertisements, event materials, and social content while ensuring alignment with the brand tone and strategy.
  • Presentation Design: Design and develop cohesive PowerPoint decks that transform complex ideas into visually and verbally engaging narratives.
  • Marketing & Promotional Asset Creation: Ideate and produce integrated creative assets such as digital banners, magazine ads, posters, event booth graphics, and out-of-home advertising materials.
  • Campaign Development & Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the campaign lifecycle, manage creative timelines, coordinate with vendors and partners, and ensure seamless execution of industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Specialized Partner Management: Manage relationships and marketing deliverables for specialized partners, maximizing distribution, marketing, and event opportunities while providing day-to-day support.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience as a creative strategist, graphic designer, or creative marketing professional within television, film, media, and/or advertising industries.
  • Passion for TV, film, streaming, and in-depth knowledge of the HBO/HBO Max brand and content.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing both visual design and copywriting across digital, print, event, and presentation formats.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategies into effective creative messaging, both visually and verbally.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across various formats and audiences (B2B, B2C, experiential, promotional).
  • Analytical understanding of brand voice, tone, and positioning.
  • Experience producing content for events, trade shows, or entertainment marketing campaigns.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • A solutions-oriented, collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for events and conferences in the US (approximately 10%).
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Keynote and After Effects is a plus.
