Health Care Compliance Officer - Registered Nurse (Home Health, and Hospice)

Salary: $57,750

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to interpret and understand statutes, rules, and internal procedures for discipline.
  • Participate in and conduct inspections/investigations to determine compliance with state regulations, statutes, rules, and internal procedures.
  • Prepare investigation reports and formulate statements of deficiencies.
  • Attend and participate in staff, advisory committee, and stakeholder organization meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance to current or potential providers and correspond with regulatory bodies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (typically 5% - 10%).

Required Qualifications

  • Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, the ability to travel statewide, and a valid level one fingerprint clearance card (or apply for one within 7 working days of employment).
  • Education: Associate’s degree combined with experience working in a licensed or regulated setting, or experience with a regulatory agency.
  • Knowledge of the Arizona Administrative Code and Arizona Revised Statutes related to licensed facilities and providers, including facility management, specialized procedures, Performance Management (PM), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and Lean methodologies.
  • Skilled in reviewing professional literature and regulations with strong oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to reprioritize as issues arise, work independently, perform detailed reviews, and analyze compliance data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess a professional license to practice in the State of Arizona or can demonstrate eligibility for reciprocity of an out-of-state license (e.g., Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Dietitian, Counselor, etc.).
