Private Health Advisor; Concierge Patient Advocate
Job Description
Position Overview
Private Health Advisor (Concierge Patient Advocate)
At Avoa Health, we believe a serious health diagnosis should not become an overwhelming burden. The Private Health Advisor is a sophisticated, high‐touch role designed for a professional who embodies the rare intersection of clinical excellence, strategic thinking, and world‐class hospitality. You will serve as the single, trusted point of contact for families navigating complex medical conditions—acting as their advocate, strategic Healthcare Chief of Staff, and anticipatory problem‐solver. This is not traditional case management; it is a partnership where you transform fragmented healthcare journeys into seamless, dignified experiences marked by deep competence, measured discretion, and unwavering support.
The Avoa Health “One-Size-Fits-One” Philosophy: Our clients are accustomed to excellence in every area of their lives. They expect a service standard that mirrors the world’s finest hospitality establishments. You will deliver this through anticipatory service, unreasonable hospitality, and hushpitality.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Strategic Care Coordination & “Chief of Staff” Logistics:
- Act as Central Command:
Serve as the primary liaison between the family and their team of specialists, ensuring every provider is aligned and the client’s agency is fiercely protected.- Practice “Hushpitality”:
Manage all medical scheduling, records transfer, and follow‐up with invisible precision so the family remains focused on healing, not administration.- Vet Elite Specialists:
Evaluate top-tier physicians and institutions to ensure the optimal fit for the client. - 2. Clinical Advocacy & Representation:
- Professional Presence:
Accompany clients to critical appointments, preparing the agenda in advance and delivering executive post‐visit summaries that translate jargon into a clear path forward.- Dismantle Roadblocks:
Use your clinical expertise to manage insurance pre‐authorizations and billing disputes, protecting the client from the friction of the healthcare system. - 3. Anticipatory Lifestyle & Home Logistics:
- Operational Scaffolding:
For clients experiencing cognitive decline or transitions, implement discreet systems (bill‐pay management, frequent check-ins) that preserve dignity while ensuring safety.- Home Ecosystem Management:
Source and manage private-duty nursing, home-care transitions, and environmental adaptations with a focus on aesthetic and functional excellence. - 4. Service Recovery & Problem Ownership:
- Own Every Issue:
Own and immediately resolve client concerns. You never say “That’s not my job.”- The LEARN Model:
When system failures occur (insurance denials, physician delays), listen, empathize, apologize, react, and notify with total strategic control.
Required Qualifications
- The WETCO Profile: Warmth, Empathy, Teamwork, Conscientiousness, and an Optimistic Explanatory Style.
- The Language of Luxury: Mastery of sophisticated, hospitality-driven communication, using phrases such as “It would be my pleasure” and “I will see to it immediately.”
- Clinical Expertise: 5+ years of healthcare experience, ideally in advocacy, case management, oncology navigation, palliative care, or geriatric care. LPN, RN, or MSW preferred, but not mandatory.
- Executive Versatility: Ability to pivot seamlessly from technical discussions with a neurosurgeon to compassionate briefings with a family office director.
