Job Description
Position Overview
The Financial Analyst position within the CMH Contract Payments Unit at MDHHS is responsible for providing financial support to the Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration. This role involves performing complex financial analysis, including the evaluation and review of managed care payments and financial data reconciliation. The analyst will prepare financial schedules, annual cost settlements, and year-end financial transactions, contributing to the overall mission of promoting a healthy and stable environment for Michigan residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and review managed care payments processed through CHAMPS to PIHPs.
- Analyze payments processed in E-GrAMS to CMHSPs.
- Conduct research and reconciliation of financial data in SIGMA, BI-Query, and CHAMPS reports.
- Prepare financial schedules and annual cost settlements.
- Manage year-end financial transactions.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in accounting, finance, or economics.
- For Financial Analyst 10: One year of professional experience in financial analysis equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9.
- For Financial Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience in financial analysis, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Community Health Automated Medicaid Payment System (CHAMPS).
- Familiarity with the Electronic Grants Management System (E-GrAMS).
- Knowledge of state financial management applications.
