Job Description

Position Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing and assisting with daily production operations by providing direction to production employees, monitoring work quality, ensuring proper training, and enforcing policies and procedures. The candidate will help manage production scheduling, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee production and maintenance activities to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Provide clear guidance and direction to production employees, ensuring they are informed of job-related matters and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and documentation to maintain consistent manufacturing processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, productivity, and delivery performance.
  • Address environmental, health, and safety issues promptly and consistently.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to manage employee relations matters as they arise.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and procedures, providing coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed.
  • Establish and manage work schedules, including interviewing and recommending new hires as required.
  • Review and approve employee timecards for bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and necessary tools.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide recommendations for improvement to the Operations Manager.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between departments and support functions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, coordinating cleanups as needed.
  • Attend production meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrate an understanding of and adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong leadership skills required in a manufacturing environment.
  • Act in a professional manner as a representative of the Company.
  • 2 year degree in Business or Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in organizational effectiveness, lean manufacturing practices, and operations management.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and prioritize work activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP software.
  • Effective at resolving problems and handling stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Must be self-disciplined and team oriented.
