Job Description

Position Overview

Legal Support Analyst 1 is an entry‐level role supporting the Department of Justice Criminal Fraud Section in a litigation support environment. The position focuses on document management, case support, and utilizing automated eDiscovery tools while working closely with attorneys on investigations, witness interviews, and trial support. This role offers a hands-on learning experience and opportunities to enhance technical and legal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex litigation support tasks including detailed review, analysis, and indexing of case materials such as financial records, healthcare files, and other litigation documents.
  • Proofread and edit deliverable products to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Occasionally serve as a team leader for Document Management Technicians and clerical support staff, coordinating tasks and workflow.
  • Work with minimal supervision while reporting to Task or Project Supervisors.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of experience on major litigation support projects or an undergraduate degree.
  • Relevant experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in finance/accounting, healthcare, legal environment, or information technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent writing skills and strong oral communication capabilities.
  • Hands-on familiarity with the Government’s office and network environment including office automation, PC-based and server-based databases, and document review platforms such as Oracle, Relativity, or Trial Director.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated litigation support tools.
  • Ability to perform quality control analysis and address data issues.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused and professional attitude when engaging with government clients on-site.
  • eDiscovery experience with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with document review processes and the Relativity platform.
  • Bi-lingual abilities are a plus.
